Dear Julie, Brian and Lisa and family; Dee and I will always remember all the great times we had with all of you when we used to camp by one another at Sunny Hill Campsite in Richburg. Bernie to me was a giant of a man with a kind heart as big as he was. I will never forget one of our softball games there when he pitched a fastball to me and I hit a line drive into his left shoulder and laid him out on the ground. I didn't know if I should run to first base or run away into the woods. He had a terrific bruise on his shoulder the next day and he laughed about it. What a terrific guy and what a terrific family. You be be greatly missed, but we all know that because of your belief in Jesus Christ your are now pitching on the streets of gold in your heavenly home. May the love of Jesus fill the void in your heart. I am sorry we could not be there for his celebration of life due to another commitment. With love and prayers du ring this time, Dee and Terry Bush.

We were so sorry to hear about Burney. Know he is in a much better place now with no more pain and suffering. We were happy we got to meet him and see he and Julie a couple years ago. He is an uncle that I had never got to see before that time. Our deepest sympathy to the family. Hoping the memories of him will give you peace. God bless Love, Ruby and Paul Aunspaugh

I first met Bernie when I was a kid and followed the Belfast soccer team. My older brother played against Bernie. For some reason, Bernie took a liking to me. Over the decades since, I'd run into Bernie every so often and he always, without fail, would take the time to chat with me. He had a way of making me feel important. I last spoke with him about a year ago at a restaurant. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He was one in a million!
